Ieri notte si sono svolti, allo Staples Center di Los Angeles, gli Oscar della Musica, i Grammy Awards 2017, in onda sulla CBS e condotti dal comico inglese James Corden.
Giunta alla sua 59^ edizione, questa celebre manifestazione ha assegnato prestigiosi riconoscimenti a giovani o artisti affermati che siano, in quanto protagonisti con le loro pubblicazioni, nel mercato musicale internazionale, dell’anno appena conclusosi.
Ad avere la meglio quest’anno con le statuette dorate a forma di grammofono, è stata l’inglese Adele, che porta a casa 5 statuette su 5 nomination.
Beyoncé (fresca di notizia sulla sua nuova gravidanza) si è dovuta accontentare di una sola statuetta – il premio al miglior disco Urban Contemporary – su 8 nomination avute quest’anno.
Adele, durante il discorso di premiazione per il Miglior Disco dell’anno, si è commossa, e rivolgendosi apertamente a Beyoncé, ha detto che il premio lo meritava lei, che l’ha definita “l’artista della mia vita”. Addirittura l’artista inglese ha rotto a metà una delle statuette per darne un pezzo a Beyoncé e condividere così il premio con lei.
Beloncé, come detto, è quella che quest’anno ha avuto più nomination, seguita da Adele; mentre per gli uomini i nominati sono stati Bieber, Drake, Lukas Graham, grande escluso risulta essere nella sezione best album quello di David Bowie.
Molti sono stati gli artisti che comunque non hanno partecipato alla manifestazione come: Frank Ocean, Justin Bieber, Drake e Kanye West.
Quest’anno si respirava anche un po’ di aria italiana rappresentata dalla nostra Laura Pausini, dove era in nomination nella categoria Best Latin Pop Album con “Similares“, versione spagnola dell’ultimo album “Simili”. Per lei non è la prima volta: ha già partecipato e vinto il Grammy nel 2006 con il brano “Resta in ascolto”. Purtroppo alla fine il Grammy non lo ha vinto.
Bello è stato il ricordo che Bruno Mars ha voluto rivolgere a Prince.
Emozionante è stata la performance di Adele, in apertura evento, che ha ricordato il grande George Michael, scomparso il Natale scorso, con una sua canzone, “Fast Love” in una veste del tutto nuova, rallentata, riarrangiata con piano e archi… STRAORDINARIA. Una versione delicata e raffinata che sarebbe piaciuta tantissimo anche a George.
Adele ha dovuto interrompere e ricantare il brano perchè era così emozionata che è andata in “pallone” completamente.
Quello di ieri sera, comunque, è stato uno spettacolo da ricordare grazie anche alle performance di Katy Perry, Adele, The Weeknd con i Daft Punk, Lady Gaga accompagnata niente poco di meno che dai Metallica , John Legend, Bruno Mars, la star della musica country Carrie Underwood e Keith Urban, Beyoncè (che non ha rinunciato ad esibirsi nonostante la gravidanza).
Non è mancata, sul palco, durante la cerimonia, l’annunciata protesta dello Star System musicale americano e mondiale contro il neo presidente Trump.
Lo ha fatto apertamente Katy Perry che ha finito la sua performance con le parole della Costituzione americana inclusa la frase “We the people” proiettate in grande alle spalle dell’artista.
Poi sono seguiti gli artisti hip hop A Tribe Called Quest, Anderson Paak, Consequence e Busta Rhymes, che si sono esibiti su #Wethepeople, pubblicato dagli A tribe called Quest nell’album uscito a novembre We Got It from Here… Thank You 4 Your Service. In particolare Busta Rhymes, che invitando la gente a “resistere”, non si è fatto problemi a chiamare apertamente Trump “il presidente ‘agent orange’”mentre alle spalle veniva sfondato un muro di finti mattoni.
Questo quanto detto da Rhymes : “Ringrazio il Presidente Agent Orange per perpetuare tutto il male che ha perpetuato in tutti gli Stati Uniti… ringrazio il Presidente Agent Orange per il tentativo fallito del Muslim Ban […] Ma noi stiamo insieme, noi siamo il popolo”, e tutto questo mentre da dietro salivano sul palco ragazze con l’hijab, un uomo messicano, delle persone con la barba che sembravano arabi, ecc ecc .
